New Service (Tap and Meter)

Acquiring new tap and meter:

For a premise that has never had water service it will be necessary to apply for service by submitting an application packet with the meter fee to Kentucky American Water. We will install a meter and make it available for the plumber to connect the customer to the service line and turn it on.

Applying:

Click on New Tap Application Packet. Apply by printing and completing forms in the application packet and submitting them with meter fee to:

Attention: New Services

The Process:

  • Begins with receipt of application packet and meter fee
  • For new company service line and setting, order sent to contractor for installation within 20 - 25 business days
  • If company service line and setting are already in place* meter will be installed within 5 - 10 business days of order issuance
  • Order returned to office and customer billing account established
  • New homeowners must call customer service at 1-800-678-6301 to have service transferred from builders name to new owners' name (click on Transfer Service ).
  • To inquire on status of application process call 1-502-484-5118 or fax 1-502-484-1265. Response within one business day.

5/8" meter $ 660.00
1" meter $ 1,254.00
2" meter $ 2,945.00

* Often there are two meter settings served by a single company service line
