Being a good neighbor is part of our mission at Missouri American Water. We demonstrate that commitment every day with programs that support the communities we serve.
We promote water education through the Missouri River Relief Learning Festival, school partnerships in Joplin and St. Joseph and the Missouri American Water High School Water Quality Research Award for outstanding high school-level research.
We also support the connection between water and health through annual sponsorship of the St. Charles Community College Health Fair.
In Joplin we are involved with education through the Wildcat Glades Nature Center, reaching out to young people on topics of water conservation and pollution. In Saint Joseph, completion of a nature center along the Missouri River will provide similar opportunities.
Our Environmental Grant Program supports innovative community-based environmental projects that improve, restore and/or protect watersheds and community water supplies through partnerships.
Our employees are active in local chambers of commerce, economic development, civic and charitable groups, all of which support the communities where we live and work.
We also help customers in need through the H20 Help for Others Program – a financial assistance program funded primarily by Missouri American Water, to help customers pay their water bills and learn water-saving techniques.
