Environmental StewardshipNew Jersey American Water Receives Environmental Stewardship Award from NJDEPIn March 2008, New Jersey American Water’s staff at its Delran, Raritan-Millstone and Canoe Brook water treatment facilities received certificates of recognition from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for meeting the requirements of their Environmental Stewardship Initiative. The NJDEP program, which was launched in January 2008, recognizes businesses for:
New Jersey American Water was recognized for maintaining an Environmental Policy and participating in the Environmental Management System/Audit program at both facilities. The company was also recognized for its involvement in community activities. At Raritan-Millstone, this included actively participating in New Jersey Water Supply Authority’s (NJWSA) River Friendly Program at the site for wildlife and habitat enhancements and supporting the Charles Rogers Bird Sanctuary in Princeton. At Canoe Brook facility, the team received kudos for its involvement in GeesePeace and DeerPeace initiatives. We Are Committed to Protecting the Environment
