Events In Your Area

The employees of New Jersey American Water play an active role in the communities we serve by getting involved in a variety of environmental and educational activities related to water – everything from watershed clean-up efforts to school programs focused on drinking water and source water protection. Below are some of the community programs we're supporting.

April

New Jersey American Water’s BE WATER WISE! Art & Photography Competition

You are invited to get your students involved in New Jersey American Water’s 2009 BE WATER WISE! Art & Photography Competition. This contest is for high-school students in grades nine through 12 that attend a school within our service area. Entries should reflect the theme of water and the environment --- like the importance of watershed protection and conservation. By participating, students will not only learn about the value of water, but they will also have the chance to win great prizes – and earn positive recognition and a monetary reward for your school. For more information, view our contest guidelines, rules and entry form.

May

Water Week
First full week in May

Water is precious. Water is the one resource on which our very lives depend. Yet, water is often taken for granted. In recognition of water's life-sustaining impact, New Jersey American Water Company celebrates National Water Week each year. Held the first full week in May, this national celebration helps to educate the public on the value of quality tap water and the services we provide.

Highlights of our New Jersey American Water's Watershed Month and Water Week activities include:

  • the offering of school and community education programs on the value of water. Education makes us all better stewards of this remarkable resource. If your school or group is interested in having a speaker come and talk about your water, contact our customer service center at 1-800-652-6987.
  • the presentation of a host of region-specific activities and special events to reach people of all ages concerned with environmentalism and wiser water usage. These activities may include watershed cleanups, speaking engagements and more.

All throughout the year, and all over the country, we participate in conferences, forums and local community events.

Here you'll find a listing of our upcoming events, or visit your state subsidiary site for events happening in your state.
