Billing & Payment Information

At New York American Water, providing you with the best customer service possible is our priority. In New York, we offer the following payment methods:

Online Self-Service, Bill Pay
With our new self-service website, My H2O Online, residential customers can pay bills online, when it is convenient. You can also manage your account and keep track of your history of water use and account activity for up to two years. Commercial customers and any others who are unable to register on the site can pay online by visiting www.water.paymybill.com. (NOTE: This is not currently an option for Mt. Ebo customers.)

Pay by Mail

  • For New York American Water Customers (see below if you're a Mt Ebo customer): Please make the check payable to “New York American Water” and mail to New York American Water, P.O. Box 371332, Pittsburgh, PA 15250-7332
  • For Mt. Ebo Water Customers ONLY: Please make the check payable to “New York American Water” and mail to New York American Water, P.O. Box 438, Wellsburg, NY 14894.
  • For Mt. Ebo Water Customers ONLY: Please make the check payable to “Mt. Ebo Sewage Works” and mail to New York American Water, P.O. Box 438, Wellsburg, NY 14894.

To avoid processing delays, include the pre-addressed payment stub, write your account number and address on your check or money order, use the envelope provided and do not send paper clips, staples or cash.

Pay Automatically
Sign up for Automatic Payment, and your bill will be paid on time, every time, directly from your checking or savings account on the date it is due. You'll still receive a copy of your bill well before the due date, so you will have time to ask any questions before payment. And it's totally free! Call our Customer Service Center to sign up, or complete and mail the Automatic Payment Program Enrollment Form. (NOTE: This is not currently an option for Mt. Ebo customers)

Pay in Person
New York American Water has agreements with merchants where you can pay your bill in person. These locations include supermarkets and drug stores. Click here to find one in your area. Be sure to have your bill and/or account number with you. Please note, this list changes periodically. Customers are encouraged to call the location first, to ensure they still accept payments for New York American Water. (NOTE: This is not currently an option for Mt. Ebo customers)

Payment Assistance
Sometimes customers face circumstances that stretch their financial resources. We are here to assist. Our customer service representatives will work with you on a plan to pay the balance of the bill over time. 

Payment Arrangements
Sometimes customers face circumstances that stretch their financial resources. If you cannot pay your bill by the due date, please contact our Customer Service Center immediately, before the due date. Our customer service representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-877-426-6999. (NOTE: Mt. Ebo customers should call 1-845-278-2780; Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.)

When you call, our customer service representatives will work with you on a plan to pay the balance of the bill over time. These payment arrangements require you to:

  • Pay at least 20% of your bill within 48 hours of your call.
  • Pay the rest of the bill, including any applicable late payment charge according to an agreed upon schedule, not to exceed six months.
  • Pay all future bills as they become due.

American Water will create these payment arrangements only with customers who have not broken a similar agreement with us in the past twelve months.
