Message From Our PresidentDear Customer: To meet new, more stringent Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, Pennsylvania American Water has been transitioning treatment processes for some of its water systems. This change is necessary to reduce known health risks that the EPA has identified with disinfection byproducts in chlorinated water. We have been transitioning to a proven, safe and effective method known as chloramination. In addition to addressing the known health risks referenced above, it enhances the quality of your drinking water by reducing the taste and odor of chlorine. For nearly 90 years, chloramine has been a safe, reliable disinfectant used by water systems across the United States and Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, York, Lebanon, Reading and Westmoreland County. Be assured that our top priority is to provide our customers with high-quality water that meets all environmental and regulatory standards. Please take the time to read the information contained on this site to learn more about chloramine. If you have further questions, let us know by using the Got Questions? mailbox, or contact our customer service center at 1-800-565-7292. Very truly yours,
