LineSaver® Service Line Protection Program
As a valued Burlington resident, you have received Homeowner Information to advise you that you are responsible for the water and sewer lines that run from your home’s exterior to the municipal service lines in the street. Normal wear and tear such as aging pipes, invasive tree roots and seasonal changes can cause your water line to leak or break, or your sewer line to clog or block.
Repairs to service lines can be costly, and problems generally require immediate attention. The City of Burlington is responsible only for the municipal service lines in the street. In addition, most homeowners’ insurance policies do not cover this expense, so as the property owner you will be responsible for repair costs.
Because we recognized that our residents were unprotected from the potential high cost of water and sewer line repairs, we’ve partnered with American Water Resources to offer the LineSaver®Service Line Protection Program. LineSaver provides an affordable means of protection from expensive repairs that can easily cost thousands of dollars. If you choose to enroll in the LineSaver Service Line Protection Program, you can receive the following coverage:
We are sharing this information with you because the City of Burlington believes this may be a benefit to our homeowners. To learn more about the programs please call American Water Resources at 1-888-207-5228.
If you live in a condo, duplex or townhouse please contact your homeowners association to determine if you are responsible for your water and sewer lines. All repair work will be performed by independent subcontractors.
