Community Programs

Being a good neighbor is part of our mission at American Water. We are dedicated to West Virginia and do make sure we show it.

We give back to the community by supporting innovative, environmental grant programs that improve, protect or restore drinking water supplies and surrounding watersheds. We actively support organizations like the United Way, the West Virginia Symphony, the Avampato Discovery Museum, Trout Unlimited, and Junior Achievement. We also support area schools like Jeffrey Spencer Elementary in Boone County with grants for projects such as an “outdoor classroom” that will tie school curriculum with conservation and environmental studies.

We also support community low-income customers through the H20 Help to Others Program®. Customers who qualify may receive discounted service, grants of up to $500, and water saving devices and education on how to use water wisely.
