American Water releases 2020 Inclusion & Diversity Report

American Water has published our first ever Inclusion and Diversity Annual Report. This report details just how far our company has come in recognizing that all backgrounds, ethnicities, and experiences make our company better. The report shows how we’re constantly striving, thanks to the contributions of every employee, to build an inclusive and mutually respectful workplace.

Our Inclusion and Diversity Annual Report shares the diversity strategies, practices, policies, and programs from across the business. The report includes more than 100 data points related to our culture of inclusion. We recognize that the data demonstrates we still have so much work to do to not only embed inclusion and diversity at all levels of the organization but to move the needle with our workforce demographics.

We have set goals in 2021 to increase representation of females and minorities across our workforce and in leadership roles. Continuing to have deeper, relevant and impactful dialogue across our company. We’ve committed ourselves to engaging in conversations that impact our African American, Asian American, Latinx, LGBTQ+, Military and Disabled employees. Launching our I&D Champion Network and Employee Business Resources Groups is a start as we continue to learn and grow.
