WHAT TO EXPECT
New York American Water will begin replacing meters in 2020 and will continue replacement through 2025.
Customers will receive formal communication from New York American Water about the required meter change. New York American Water Field Service Representatives, with support from our selected qualified meter service contractor, will be requesting access to our customers’ premises to complete the replacement. If the meter is located outside the home, an appointment will not be necessary, but New York American Water will inform the customer that their meter has been changed.
New York American Water strives to make the meter replacement process as easy as possible for our customers and will make appointments with customers with meters inside their homes in advance.
