LATEST WATER QUALITY REPORTS HIGHLIGHT HOW IOWA AMERICAN WATER MEASURES UP TO NATIONAL AND STATE STANDARDS

Davenport, IA (May 29, 2020) — Iowa American Water announced today that the company’s 2019 Water Quality Reports are now accessible through its website at https://amwater.com/iaaw/water-quality/water-quality-reports, as well as via printed copies that can be mailed to customers. The information in the reports confirms that again this year, Iowa American Water has met or surpassed all standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and enforced by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

Also known as, the Consumer Confidence Report, this report compares the quality of water supplied by Iowa American Water against standards established by the EPA and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The report describes local drinking water source information and shares test results, including all substances detected in the water and their levels.

“Our customers rely on us to deliver safe, clean, reliable water to their taps. It is important for them to be able to trust in this critical service. This is why we work so hard to provide a quality product at a good value. The water quality reports are a testament to our team’s expertise and dedication. The journey of water from its source to the tap is much more complex than many people realize, and nothing is more important than the exhaustive testing taking place at every stage of its voyage. We’re proud of our track record of not only meeting water quality standards, but also going above and beyond what is required,” said Iowa American Water President Randy Moore.

By providing two easy ways for customers to receive confirmation that their drinking water meets all federal standards for water quality, the company is also working to increase the publics’ understanding of the value of their water.

“We know that an educated customer is one who will place a higher value on this precious resource and who will have a greater tendency to do his or her part in protecting it. We’re proud to share these reports with our customers in order to encourage greater awareness, appreciation and wise water use,” Moore added.

In addition to online access, customers can request a hard copy be mailed to them by contacting the customer service center at 1-866-641-2108.
