Missouri American Water Honors Local Heroes for International Firefighters’ Day

St. LOUIS, MO (May 4, 2021) – Missouri American Water applauds heroic efforts of local firefighters for International Firefighters’ Day and encourages fire protection districts to apply for the company’s Firefighter Grant Program in August.

“We thank our local firefighters for their courageous and honorable sacrifices to keep our families and environment safe,” said Debbie Dewey, president of Missouri American Water. “They are a cornerstone of our community. To support them, we created our Firefighter Grant Program to provide additional gear for fire protection and first response efforts.”

Missouri American Water’s annual Firefighter Grant Program provides funds that may be applied toward additional tools, equipment, and training. In 2020, the company awarded more than $40,000 to 34 fire departments and districts throughout the state.
