New Jersey American Water LIFTS Conservation Notice for Customers in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset and Parts of Union County

System Issue Resolved, Operations Returned to Normal

CAMDEN, N.J. – January 6, 2022– New Jersey American Water is LIFTING the request for customers in its Central Operating Region to avoid any non-essential water use until further notice. The advisory was issued on January 3, as a result of reduced water levels caused by a system issue at its Raritan-Millstone Water Treatment Plant in Bridgewater. New Jersey American Water customers in Mercer, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset and parts of Union County were included in the notice.

The issue at the plant has been resolved and operations have returned to normal. Thanks to the hard work and expertise of the operations and engineering teams, there were no reports from customers of decreased water pressure or discoloration related to the restoration efforts.
