Notice of Intent to Renew: Title V Operating Permit No. BOP180002 Program Interest Number: 35862

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to NJSA 13:1D-157 and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Administrative Order 2021-25 (AO 2021-25), that New Jersey-American Water Company, Inc., intends to renew its Title V operating permit for its facility located at 100 Polhemus Lane, Bridgewater, NJ.

As a result of the potential levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC) emitted from this facility, New Jersey-American Water Company, Inc is a major stationary source as defined in Title I, Part D of the Clean Air Act Amendments.  The facility is therefore subject to the Title V permitting requirements adopted in NJAC 7:27 Subchapter 22.

The proposed Title V Operating Permit Renewal eliminates previous equipment and adds three (3) new emergency generators.  These changes are expected to decrease overall emissions under the new Title V Permit. The current Title V Permit No. BOP180002 was issued on March 21, 2016.  Upon final approval, the permit will be renewed for an additional five (5) years from the current expiration date.

Pursuant to AO 2021-25, a public information session will be held on April 28, 2022 at 6:00 pm. The information session will be held via Vimeo and can be accessed via this webpage: https://vimeo.com/event/1961926

Concurrent with this notice, New Jersey-American Water Company, Inc. will accept public comments on the proposed Title V renewal for a sixty-day period starting on March 24, 2022 and concluding on May 23, 2022.  Comments can be submitted via electronic mail to NJAWCentral.DEP@amwater.com  or via United States Postal Service to NJAW Raritan-Millstone WTP, PO Box 102, Bound Brook, NJ 08805.
