Pennsylvania American Water Announces $315,000 McKeesport Wastewater System Upgrade

Traffic delays anticipated along Bettis Road in Dravosburg

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (January 7, 2022) – Pennsylvania American Water announced today the start of construction to replace approximately 1,000 feet of aging sewer main along Bettis Road, Valleyview Drive, Melrose Place, and Ridgeview Drive in Dravosburg Borough, Allegheny County. The cost of these system improvements is approximately $315,000.

Beginning on January 10, contractors will begin replacing the sewer main along Bettis Road at the intersection of Ridgeview Drive and transition into the adjacent neighborhood. Crews will work weekdays between 7 a.m., and 4 p.m.

Traffic restrictions will be in place during construction. The company expects to complete the sewer main installation by the end of the year. Final restoration and paving will be completed in early spring 2022.
