More than 25 community organizations are participating in this educational event for all ages to promote the importance of water conservation and water quality in our environment. There will be food, sno-cones, games, an inflatable slide and the “People’s Choice Awards” water tasting competition.

Tennessee American Water is partnering with the City of Chattanooga to host this year’s Water Professionals Conference, which will include over 1500 participants. According to the Chattanooga Convention & Visitors Bureau, this conference will have an economic impact of $729,000.

“We are honored to be the host utility for this important conference which allows water professionals to continue providing the best services in their fields,” said Deron Allen, President of Tennessee American Water.

Kentucky and Tennessee water professionals will come together to exchange ideas and earn continuing education credits. Activities during the conference include a tour of the Tennessee American Water plant, a tour of the Moccasin Bend Treatment Facility, a member celebration at the Tennessee Aquarium, and contests for best tasting water and water pipe tapping.

The conference is co-sponsored by the Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Association (WEA) and the Kentucky/Tennessee Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) advances public health, safety, and welfare by uniting the efforts of the full spectrum of the water community. It is driven by professionals who strive to create the best solution-based approaches in the supply and protection of drinking water in North America and beyond. The Kentucky/Tennessee AWWA is one of 43 AWWA sections.

The Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Association is one of 80 member associations of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), a not-for-profit technical and educational organization representing water quality professionals throughout the world. WEF and its member associations proudly work to preserve and enhance the global water environment.

Both WEF and AWWA work to provide water quality professionals around the world with education, training, and business opportunities.
