MEDIA ADVISORY: Virginia American Water Issues Conservation Notice for All Customers Served by Hopewell Water System
HOPEWELL, Va. (February 14, 2021) — Due to a power outage resulting from the recent ice storms impacting Virginia American Water’s water treatment plant in Hopewell, the company has issued a conservation notice for all customers served by its Hopewell water system. This includes approximately 9,500 customers in the City of Hopewell, as well as the subdivisions of New Birchett Estates, Cedar Creek, Cedar Creek West, Strattford Woods and Mullberry Woods in Prince George County. If power is not restored soon, the company may issue a boil water advisory to customer as a precautionary measure.
