New Jersey American Water Names Winners of Annual Protect Our Watersheds Art Contest

CAMDEN, N.J. – JAN. 25, 2022 – New Jersey American Water is proud to announce the winners of its 2021 Protect Our Watersheds Art Contest. Out of over 200 entries, three fourth-graders within the company’s service territory were selected as winners for conveying the importance of protecting our natural resources through exceptional artwork.

“We are truly inspired by all of the submissions we received and commend every student who participated,” said Denise Venuti Free, Director of Communications and External Affairs, New Jersey American Water. “Activities like our art contest help to remind us that we all play a part in protecting our water sources, and the future of our watersheds looks very bright in the hands of these young stewards.”

The grand prize was awarded to Soham from Middlesex County, NJ for his painting of a lake cleanup that he participated in. Soham’s artwork shows the importance of watersheds as well as the many ways they can be put at risk, and what can be done to protect them.

Additionally, second and third-place prizes were awarded to Lauren and Valerie of Union County, NJ. Each winner received an American Express gift card and all contest participants received a certificate of participation and a reusable water bottle.
