Kentucky American Water Proudly Recognizes American Water Charitable Foundation Water and Environment Grantee

Kentucky Association for Environmental Education Awarded Grant

The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., recently announced that the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education (KAEE) has been awarded a Water and Environment grant, supporting communities served by Kentucky American Water.

“We’re delighted that the American Water Charitable Foundation continues to partner with Kentucky organizations making a difference in the communities we serve,” said Kathryn Nash, president of Kentucky American Water.

The Water and Environment grant is part of the American Water Charitable Foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program focusing on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities. KAEE’s grant award will be used for the organization’s Kentucky Green Schools program focused on water and green practices.

“The American Water Charitable Foundation is pleased to partner with eligible nonprofit organizations in Kentucky,” said Carrie Williams, president, American Water Charitable Foundation. “Funding for the Water and Environment grants focuses on clean water, conservation, environmental education, climate variability, and water-based recreation projects.”

Ashley Hoffman, executive director of the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education added, “With this generous funding, we look forward to increasing water literacy in schools across the Commonwealth through the Kentucky Green Schools initiative. A better understanding of water resources among students holds the promise of a greener and more sustainable future for us all.”
