New Jersey American Water Appoints Vincent Maione to Board of Directors

CAMDEN, N.J. (July 13, 2020)New Jersey American Water has appointed Vincent Maione to the company’s board of directors. Maione joins two other recently appointed independent board members, T. Missy Balmir and Richard T. Smith.

“We are excited to welcome Vince to our board, and we look forward to tapping into his utility expertise and leadership in New Jersey as we continue to provide high quality, reliable service to the communities we serve,” said Cheryl Norton, president of New Jersey American Water.

Maione served as Region President of Atlantic City Electric in New Jersey from 2009 to 2018, a public utility owned by Exelon Corporation that serves approximately 547,000 customers in southern New Jersey. He retired from Atlantic City Electric in 2018 after 33 years of service, and established ESM Professional Consulting, LLC, which specializes in providing professional consulting services for the electric power industry.

Maione began his career in 1984 with Atlantic City Electric in the company’s Commercial & Industrial Marketing department. He has held various supervisory and management positions within the company throughout his career including Distribution/Transmission Engineering, Electric Field Operations and Project Management. 

Maione is a graduate of Villanova University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a minor in mathematics. He also graduated from the University of Maryland where he received his master’s degree in business administration. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and holds licenses as a professional engineer in New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.

Maione is a former board member of the New Jersey Utilities Association, New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce, Choose New Jersey and a Trustee member for Public Media N.J., Inc. (NJTV). He was also appointed by Governor Chris Christie in 2012 to the New Jersey Italian and Italian American Heritage Commission. Maione is a former Town Council member of Hammonton, N.J., where he served two terms in public office from 1999-2003.
