New Jersey American Water Invests $1 Million in Bedminster Infrastructure

CAMDEN, N.J. – SEPT. 8, 2021 – New Jersey American Water will replace approximately 900 feet of aging water main and install 2,800 feet of new water main in Bedminster starting next week. The project also includes replacing two fire hydrants and 17 utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route. The company will upgrade the aging 2-, 4- and 6-inch cast iron water lines that were installed in the 1960s with new 12-inch ductile iron and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) main along the following streets:

  • Deer Haven Road entire length connecting to Route 206
  • Old Dutch Road from Old Dutch Place to Peapack Road

This $1 million investment will continue to advance water service reliability and increase water flows for household consumption and fire protection in this community. This improvement is part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar initiative to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.

New Jersey American Water’s local, qualified contractor, Montana Construction, Inc. will begin work on or about September 13 and expects to be completed within approximately five weeks, weather permitting. Final street restorations will be completed in the spring of 2022.

For the public’s and workers’ safety, traffic restrictions and/or alternating traffic patterns are likely to occur during work hours. All emergency vehicles and local traffic will be allowed access during construction.
