American Water employees – including scientists, experts in technology and innovation, engineers and operations will be able to work together under one roof to solve the world’s biggest water challenges, including repairing the country’s aging water and wastewater infrastructure and solving water source and quality issues – allowing us to collaborate and innovate to better serve our customers.

Enhancing Our Presence in Camden

While having our headquarters based in Camden is a new development, our company is not new to the city – our roots run deep. For more than 125 years, American Water’s subsidiary, New Jersey American Water, has been a part of Camden, providing water service in Cramer Hill and maintaining the rest of Camden’s water & sewer system since 2016.

Since 2011, American Water has invested more than $4 million into Camden, supporting local nonprofits and community programs. Relocating our employees to the city allows us to enhance our support in Camden and continue growing our roots here by forming new partnerships and expanding existing ones with local organizations that are helping the quality of life in the City of Camden, just like us.
